Every engagement starts with the free technology audit: a call about how the business runs, then a written, ranked list of what is worth automating — and what is not. If you go ahead with a build, the discovery for it is done on site for San Diego County businesses, sitting with your team and the systems they use.
A clinic covered by HIPAA may share patient records with an outside service vendor only under a business associate agreement. A defense supplier handling controlled unclassified information under DFARS 252.204-7012 must protect it to NIST SP 800-171 on its own systems, may use a cloud provider for it only if that provider meets the FedRAMP Moderate baseline or an equivalent, and since November 2025 can find a CMMC Level 2 assessment written into the contract itself under DFARS 252.204-7021. A life sciences company may be held to sponsor or customer terms that rule out a hosted service altogether. A private, open-weight model on your own hardware answers from that data without it leaving the boundary you already secure — it does not replace the work of securing that boundary.

Defense suppliers and life sciences companies here often carry contractual data-handling obligations from their customers on top of state law, and clinics that bill insurance electronically are generally HIPAA covered entities. Those terms can decide whether a hosted model is an option at all, so we read them with your contracts or quality lead before any model is chosen.

Aidan Luchans founded Abrams & Luchanski in San Diego in 2024, and designed and built the Nexos Platform, a multi-tenant AI operations platform: AI agents, multi-step workflows with human approval, connections to roughly 90 business tools, and private knowledge search.
Aidan leads both the firm’s advisory work and Nexos’s engineering, so the person who scopes a project also builds it.

Yes — that is what the local LLM installation is for: an open-weight model on your own hardware, wired into your tools. It suits organisations whose data cannot go to a hosted AI service, such as HIPAA-covered clinics or suppliers bound by customer data-handling terms. Keeping the model on your hardware settles where the data goes; it does not by itself make you compliant, which your own compliance or legal lead confirms. If you would rather not run the hardware, a hosted private model is the alternative, but it runs outside your network.
