Orange County · In person

We build AI & software with your Orange County team, in the room.

Nexos, founded in San Diego in 2024 as the technology division of Abrams & Luchanski, designs and builds AI agents, private language models, integrations and custom software for Orange County businesses. The free audit is a call and a written report; once a build is agreed, its discovery, design reviews, acceptance testing and training take place at your site anywhere in the county, with the engineering in between done remotely from San Diego.

The economy

Offices, clinics and factory floors — mostly firms too small to keep a developer on staff.

Look at where Orange County’s jobs actually are and the pattern is clear. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts roughly 316,700 jobs in professional and business services across the Santa Ana–Anaheim–Irvine metro division, and another 148,000 in manufacturing. The Census Bureau puts health care and social assistance receipts in the county at $34.2 billion. These are document-heavy, process-heavy industries: proposals, engineering change orders, prior authorizations, purchase orders, compliance files.

They are also, mostly, small organisations. The Census Bureau counts about 88,000 employer firms here and over 320,000 owner-run businesses with no payroll at all. A firm of thirty people rarely has a developer on staff, so its software is whatever it could buy and configure, and the gaps between those products are filled by people copying data by hand.

On its own website, read in September 2026, the Orange County Business Council ranks the county 1st in the U.S. for medical device manufacturing; the council gives no report year for that ranking. Nearly half of residents speak a language other than English at home — which matters for any system that talks to customers or patients.

Where AI & software pays off here

Where a build tends to earn its cost here

We have no Orange County projects to point to and we will not pretend otherwise. What follows is reasoned from the county’s industries and the size of its firms.

01

Document and quality assistants for device makers

A medical device company’s engineers spend hours finding the right procedure, the last revision of a specification or a similar past complaint. A search-and-answer system over the controlled document set, citing the exact revision it drew from, shortens that search without touching the records themselves.

02

Private models for clinics and practices

Specialty practices, clinics and home-care agencies handle patient information they should not paste into a public chatbot. Staff can summarize, draft and look things up with a private model instead. Installed on hardware you own, it keeps those records inside your building; a dedicated hosted model runs on a provider’s servers, so what it offers is narrower — records kept off public chatbots and out of model training, with the business associate question settled with the practice and its counsel before any patient record is involved.

03

Multilingual intake and customer replies

With close to half the county speaking another language at home, a service business often answers the same question in several languages. An intake agent that drafts replies in the customer’s language, routed to a person for approval, removes a bottleneck that usually sits with one bilingual employee.

04

Quoting and order flow for manufacturers

Job shops and contract manufacturers re-key the same part numbers from an emailed drawing into a quote, then into the ERP, then into a shipping system. Connecting those steps — with a person confirming anything unusual — shortens quote turnaround and cuts transcription errors.

05

Client portals for professional firms

Accounting, engineering and legal practices trade documents with clients by email and chase missing items by phone. A secure portal with status tracking and automatic reminders gives the client a clear view of what is outstanding and gives the staff their afternoons back.

Rules that shape the build

Privacy and AI rules in Orange County

California’s rules apply here as they do statewide: the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, the California Privacy Protection Agency’s regulations on automated decisionmaking technology and risk assessments, and the Civil Rights Council’s rules on automated-decision systems in employment. Each is itemised, with official links and dates, on our California page. California’s rules, itemised →

Device makers carry a second layer: the FDA’s Quality Management System Regulation (21 CFR Part 820, which since February 2026 incorporates ISO 13485:2016 by reference) governs their quality system, so for any software that touches production, complaint or design records, your quality team and counsel own validation, and Nexos builds to the requirements they set from the first design, next to the privacy work, rather than at the end. For Orange County clinics, patient data puts HIPAA and California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act in scope as well; if you are a covered entity, whoever hosts or builds on those records needs a business associate agreement with you, which you and your counsel agree before patient data reaches any model.

How an engagement runs

Workshops at your site, engineering in between.

Nothing on site is part of the free audit, which is a phone or video call followed by a written assessment. After you accept the fixed-scope proposal, the paid build opens with a working session at your offices alongside the people who run the process, mapping the steps, the systems and the exceptions on a whiteboard. Further on-site days follow for design reviews, acceptance testing and training.

Between visits we build from San Diego, with a weekly call and a shared board where you can see what is finished, what is next and what is waiting on you. Nothing ships to your staff until someone at your company has signed it off.

In person across Southern California: San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Imperial counties, the Coachella Valley included. Pacific Time, the same time zone as San Diego.

How we work
  1. Free technology audit. A call, then a written audit that ranks what in your business is worth building or automating.
  2. Fixed-scope proposal. What will be built, what is left out and the price, in writing before any work starts.
  3. The build. A weekly check-in call, a shared progress board showing what is done, what is next and what is waiting on you, and working software to try early.

The free technology audit is a call and a written audit, wherever you are, Southern California included. In Southern California, on-site sessions (workshops, discovery at your premises, design reviews, acceptance testing and training) are part of a paid build, not the free audit.

Pricing

Audit — free: a call and a written technology audit.

Build — from $4,900 per fixed-scope project.

Run — from $890/month for a hosted private model.

The same prices everywhere. See pricing.

Who does the work

Aidan Luchans, Founder

Aidan Luchans founded Abrams & Luchanski in San Diego in 2024, and designed and built the Nexos Platform, a multi-tenant AI operations platform: AI agents, multi-step workflows with human approval, connections to roughly 90 business tools, and private knowledge search.

Aidan leads both the firm’s advisory work and Nexos’s engineering, so the person who scopes a project also builds it.

Questions

Orange County, specifically.

What does an AI or software build cost for an Orange County business?

Prices are the same everywhere we work, Orange County included. The first step, an audit of the process you want fixed, costs nothing. Fixed-scope builds start at $4,900, and a dedicated hosted private model starts at $890 per month. A firm in Irvine or Anaheim sees the same numbers as one in San Diego.

Will someone from Nexos actually come to us in Orange County?

Yes. Orange County is part of our in-person area. The free audit is a call plus a written audit, and weekly check-ins during a build are calls. Once you agree a paid build, its discovery, workshops, design reviews, acceptance testing and training happen at your site.

Can AI help a medical device company without creating validation headaches?

It can, if it is scoped honestly. A search-and-answer assistant that reads your controlled documents but never edits them is far simpler to justify than software that writes into the quality record. We start with the read-only kind. Validation stays with your quality team and counsel: they set the requirements, Nexos builds to them, and nothing goes further until they are satisfied.

How long does a build take for an Orange County firm, and what happens in what order?

It runs in four steps, and the calendar depends on the scope we agree. First comes the free audit of the process you want fixed: a call, then a written audit. Second, a fixed-scope proposal naming what will be built and what is left out. Third, the paid build, which opens with a working session at your site and is then engineered from San Diego with a weekly call and a shared board showing progress. Last, acceptance testing and staff training back at your office, and nothing goes live until someone at your company signs it off. The proposal states the timeline for your project before any work begins.

How is this different from the Abrams & Luchanski Orange County page?

That page is the consulting side: operations, organisation and transactions. This one is the build side — the software and AI that Nexos, the firm’s technology division, designs and delivers. A single engagement can use both: consulting to decide what to change, Nexos to build it.
